There are many ways to get to Alert Bay. By car, from Nanaimo or Victoria,
travel via the new inland Island Highway to the town of Port McNeill
(about 3 hours from Nanaimo). From there, it's a beautiful 40 minute
ferry ride to Cormorant Island and Alert Bay. Whales and dolphins
are often spotted from the ferry, so keep your eyes peeled!
By plane, fly via commercial airline to Port
Hardy, about a 30 minute drive from Port McNeill, or by seaplane
to Port McNeill or Alert Bay. Alert Bay also has its own 3000' airstrip
and the Nimpkish is happy to provide ground transportation.

By boat, cruise through the beautiful
Broughton Archipelago on your way to Alert Bay. You'll see the big
yellow hotel on the south side of the island-watch for the umbrellas
on our waterfront deck!
