Room 4 is equipped in a nautical manner with a special nod to Captain Vancouver. From the very private deck one looks directly toward the mouth of the Nimpkish River where the venerable explorer first arrived in these waters. The historic encounter with the aboriginal people—many of them ancestors of our Alert Bay friends and neighbours--is represented by the John Horton painting, “Cheslakees’ Reception,” displayed in our Lobby. Fireplace, TV/DVD, frig, coffee—all here for your enjoyment.
